Permanent residence for Ukrainian nationals with family members in Canada

 Hello everyone,

I was just starting to miss all the filling of application and immigration forms after I submitted my application for citizenship, when here comes another program for Ukrainian family members. You can see more details here.  I have applied my mom for the new program that is a pretty new for everyone and we don't know what to expect and how long. I decided to share the timeline of the application process so we can see how this new program goes. The process of applying is pretty easy, not sure if I need to explain each step here, but let me know if you need so I'll try to help.

Dec 5, 2023- Application submitted

July 17, 2024- AOR (This confirms that the application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on 2023/12/06)

July 17, 2024- Biometric Instruction Letter (Biometric request )

Aug 12, 2024- Biometric done 

March 18,2025- Email from IRCC (Re:  Missing/incomplete documents) Request to send within 30 days and reply ti this email within 7 days :

• A completed Additional Family Information form  IMM5406
• the police check from Ukraine
• medical exam for the spouse  whether he accompanying or not OR proof of the relationship/divorce
• copy of paying the RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE (575$)
•  copy of valid passport

March 20, 2025 -All requested documents were sent. The police check was requested from Consulate of Ukraine in Canada* 

March 25, 2025 -Eligibility letter from IRCC and request of the information about financial situation 

(To provide a copy of a recent letter of employment, a recent paystub or reasons why you are not working and how you support yourself financially. You must provide evidence that you made arrangements for your care and support. Your application for permanent residence could be refused if you are not self supporting)

March 25,2025 - Pre-arrival email received

March 29, 2025 - Medical exam was reviewed. Passed. **

November 10,2025 - IRRC Permanent Residence Portal (PR Confirmation)***

November 18, 2025 -email PR Portal (PR confirmation)****

* We received the Police Check from Diya App in Ukrainian. For English translate it was sent to the Consulate of Ukraine in Edmonton via mail (the tracking mail with the 40$ check  inside, the copy of the 1st page of the travel document , the filled form , and the police check in Ukrainian from Diya). The Criminal Record check received from Consulate within 1 week and sent back to IRCC.

**Medical Exam -My mom does her medical exam in 2020 when she applied for the Super Visa

***IRCC email -Request to reply to email within 7 days with the information (eye color, height, UCI, date entry to Canada, etc)

****IRCC email-request to sign in a PR Portal and uploaded photo, add Canadian mail address and confirm the  you are residing in Canada (deadline to reply 7 days)
